Ray Liotta is an American actor and producer, born on December 18, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey. He started his acting career in the late 1970s but gained recognition in the early 1990s with his role in Martin Scorsese's crime drama film, Goodfellas, for which he earned critical acclaim and a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Liotta has since then appeared in several other notable films such as Field of Dreams, Hannibal, Blow, and Identity. He has also lent his voice to several animated films including Bee Movie and Shark Tale.
Apart from his career in acting, Liotta has appeared in the television drama series Shades of Blue, which he also produced. He also hosted the America's Most Wanted reality TV show and has served as a spokesperson for several organizations, including the American Heart Association and the National Kidney Foundation.
Liotta has been married and divorced once and has a daughter. He has been open about his struggles with addiction in the past.
